Der Dachboden erfüllt seit mehreren Generationen erfolgreich die Bedürfnisse von LGBTQQA-Jugendlichen. Weiter auf dem Dachboden!

Ich möchte glauben, dass diese Organisation gute Dinge für die Gemeinde tut, aber ich habe es nicht gesehen, und mein persönlicher Kampf, mit ihnen umzugehen, hat mich zu einer äußerst negativen Meinung geführt.

Ich habe eine Nichte, eine braune Agender-Queer-Person, die eine Therapie brauchte. Vor ungefähr einem Jahr rief ich diesen Ort auf Empfehlung an und ging durch die Hölle, um jemanden aus der Beratungsabteilung dazu zu bringen, meine Anrufe zurückzugeben. Niemand * jemals * antwortete, ich hinterließ Voicemails und wartete 3-5 Tage und bekam keinen Rückruf, also rief ich erneut an.

Ich beschwerte mich schließlich beim Direktor des Zentrums und bekam einen Rückruf, und die Person, die mich anrief, war äußerst empört und hatte eine schreckliche Einstellung; und dann entzündete er mich, indem er versuchte vorzuschlagen, dass * ich * eine schreckliche Einstellung hatte und "Privilegien" zeigte, indem er ihnen nicht erlaubte, mich am Telefon zu schikanieren, weil ich über ihr schreckliches, unprofessionelles Verhalten verärgert war.

Es ist jetzt ein Jahr später und der Therapeut meiner Nichte an einem anderen Ort zieht weiter, also wollte ich diesen Ort noch einmal versuchen, aber ich rufe wieder an und hinterlasse Nachrichten, die nicht zurückgegeben werden.

Wenn ich glauben will, dass diese Organisation die psychische Gesundheit junger LGBTQIA + -Personen ernst nimmt, muss ich wissen, dass sie in einem angemessenen und professionellen Zeitraum einen einfachen Anruf bezüglich der psychischen Gesundheit eines Kindes tätigen können.

Leider kann ich das Attic Youth Center nicht als positiven Ort für den Zweck empfehlen, dem sie dienen wollen.
