Das Buchfestival selbst ist ziemlich cool, aber die Art und Weise, wie sich die Stadtpolizisten verhalten, wenn die Innenstadt gemietet wird, ist nicht gut. Ich wurde gerade von einem Beamten auf der Buchmesse angehalten, der sagte, unsere Gruppe könne die Barrieren nicht betreten. Anscheinend, wenn das Buchfestival Platz mietet, der die Bürgersteige einschließt, sagt die Polizei, dass alles von Bürgersteig zu Bürgersteig vermietet ist, was für sie bedeutet, dass man überhaupt nicht auf den Bürgersteig gehen kann.

Ziemlich verwirrend, wie das Buchfest öffentliche Bürgersteige mieten kann und / oder die Polizei nicht weiß, dass Bürgersteige nicht gemietet werden können. Jedenfalls nur ein Vorfall mit den Bullen, die darauf warten, passiert zu werden! Es sollte in der Verantwortung des Buchfestivals liegen, alle Bürgersteige zu erziehen und / oder ihnen Zugang zu gewähren.

Das Festival findet vielleicht nur einmal im Jahr statt, aber sie arbeiten das ganze Jahr über im ganzen Staat, um Bücher in die Hände unserer jungen Leute zu bekommen. Literarische Crawls, Lesen von Rockstar, Teen Book Fest. Freiwilligenarbeit das ganze Jahr über. Und Sie können Zeit, Geld oder Bücher geben, je nachdem, was Ihrem Komfort entspricht. Eine der besten Möglichkeiten, die nächste Generation zu beeinflussen, besteht darin, ihnen das Lesen und Denken selbst beizubringen.
