Schreckliche Erfahrung mit dieser Polizei. Ich weigerte mich, zum Unfallort zu kommen, "weil wir es mit einem Überschlag zu tun haben" und deshalb sollte ich zum Bahnhof herunterkommen. Als ich auf dem Bahnhof ankam, beschuldigte mich der Beamte der Lüge und sagte: "Nach allem, was ich weiß, hätten Sie einen Hammer zu Ihrem Auto bringen können." Ich hatte das Nummernschild der Leute, die mich angefahren haben, und nur die einfachsten polizeilichen Ermittlungen konnten meine Geschichte zusammentragen (den Schaden an dem Fahrzeug, das mich angefahren hat, mit dem Schaden an meinem Auto abgleichen). Stattdessen wollten sie mich rechtlich beraten, hauptsächlich kann ich selbst beim Ordnungsamt eine Beschwerde einreichen. Aber ohne Namen und Adresse, die ich nicht habe, kann ich keine Beschwerde einreichen. Ich wette, wenn ich weiß wäre, hätten sie mir geholfen. Dann fragt sich die Polizei, warum die Leute sie hassen. Jedes Mal, wenn sie jemanden so behandeln, machen sie die Polizeiarbeit für alle Polizisten gefährlicher. Anstatt Brücken zu bauen, setzen sie selektiv Gesetze durch, helfen einigen und lassen andere ohne Abhilfe. Letztendlich lautete die allgemeine Botschaft, die ich von der Massachusetts State Police erhielt: Wenn Sie in der Gegend von Springfield Hilfe brauchen, rufen Sie uns nicht an, Sie sind auf sich allein gestellt.
