Ein sehr produktiver Ort, viele Parkplätze, das Personal war sehr nett. Ich wünschte jedoch, der Schweißtest wäre anders verlaufen. (Die Bezahlung war übrigens in Ordnung)
Ich bekam ein Übungsstück (3/8" dickes T-Gelenk) und begann ein paar Übungs-Mig-Schweißläufe zu machen, der Draht war .045 Mig-Draht. Ich bekam die Maschine mit den gewünschten Einstellungen und bat um meinen Test , das war ein 1/4 "dickes Quadratrohr.
Zuerst ging es mir mit meinem Test gut, ich bemerkte, dass das Grundmetall nicht zu dünn, aber auch nicht zu dick war ...
Auf halbem Weg hat die Person, die den Test durchgeführt hat, meine Temperatur erhöht, und dann begann ich, Schweißnähte aufzutragen, die selbst ich für schlecht hielt. (Mig-Schweißen ist nicht meine Spezialität, aber ich weiß, wie eine schlechte Schweißung aussieht).
Also habe ich den Test fortgesetzt, ich habe die Einstellungen nicht geändert, weil ich dachte, dass dies vielleicht die Temperatur ist, bei der sie brennen. Was mich am meisten verwirrte, war, wie von der Person, die den Test ausgab, eine heißere Einstellung an der Maschine gewählt wurde, obwohl das zu schweißende Grundmetall überhaupt nicht so dick war. Die Schweißnähte brannten fast zur Hälfte durch den Stahl und gaben ein "sinkendes" Aussehen, das fast das Metall aushob ... plus viel Hinterschneidung. Dann sagte die Person, die mir den Schweißtest gab, dass ich zu viel Unterschnitt habe (Nun ja, ich frage mich warum) und hielt mich vom Test ab.
Danke für die Gelegenheit, aber wenn ich einen Schweißtest nicht bestehen sollte, lass mich zumindest an den Schweißeinstellungen scheitern, die ich an der Maschine gewählt habe .... nicht von jemandem, der meine Einstellungen auf eine heißere Temperatur für 1/4 "Stahl geändert hat , obwohl ich mit meinen ursprünglichen Einstellungen bereits vertraut war. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob die Person, die meine Temperatur geändert hat, dies absichtlich getan hat, weil sie wusste, dass die Schweißnähte schlecht aussehen, oder ob sie sehen wollten, wie ich mit höheren Temperaturen umgehe.
