Angeboten wurde ein Preis für mehrtägige All-Inclusive-Produktion und Mastering, der vollständig und pünktlich bezahlt wurde. Wochen nach der Sitzung wurde uns gesagt, dass wir immer noch mehr als 2.000 US-Dollar schulden. Wir sagten ihnen, das sei unmöglich, da wir uns bereits auf einen Preis geeinigt und bereits bezahlt hätten. Wir haben dies mit Telefonaufzeichnungen, Kopien von E-Mails, Rechnungen, Kreditkartenabrechnungen und Textnachrichten untermauert. Angeblich hatten sie es versäumt, die Mastering-Kosten hinzuzurechnen (obwohl diese eindeutig auf der Rechnung angegeben und bereits bezahlt waren). Sie hielten unsere Masters als Geiseln, bis wir zustimmten, die bereits bezahlten zusätzlichen $2K+ für das Mastering zu zahlen.
Wenn Sie eine Frau sind, erwarten Sie außerdem Unhöflichkeit von Miss Lazar, die offen feindselig war und meine direkt an sie gerichteten beruflichen Fragen ignorierte. (Ich habe sie nicht damit bedrängt, aber ich habe während der ganztägigen Sitzung ein paar Fragen gestellt.) Sie scheint sich von anderen Frauen in der Branche bedroht zu fühlen, auch wenn diese Frauen sie und ihr Handwerk respektieren. Darüber hinaus fragte sie, als sie mir vorgestellt und informiert wurde, dass ich ein Plattenlabel betreibe, kicherte dann abweisend und sagte: „Oh, huh, das ist lustig, ich habe noch nie davon gehört. Also, was hast du genau gemacht? Irgendetwas von dem ich eigentlich gehört hätte?" in einem arroganten Ton voller Herablassung. Es ging so weit, dass die Band, die ich leitete, mich privat fragte, warum sie so unhöflich zu mir sei und ob wir zuvor eine negative Begegnung gehabt hätten. (Nein, hatten wir nicht, ich hatte sie noch nie in meinem Leben getroffen und war sehr beeindruckt von ihrer Arbeit.) Finger weg!
