Consisting of a widely read inspiration blog, a recycled marketplace, service-request platform, and flash sale shopping experience, 100 Layer Cake provides brides, event planners, and anyone planning a creative event a unique resource for ideas, products, and services. Founded by three graphic designers with extensive experience in web design and event styling, the user experience of the site and strong brand presence are unique in the wedding industry. The was blog launched in February 2009, followed by the full website launch in December 2010.
